So Junior Nation crumbled a bit today

Still not sure what was wrong with Junior today. But I am pretty sure that Junior Nation crumbled a bit today. I am generally a big Junior fan but not today. Do I believe he did this on accident? Nope not so much! I think it was pretty much the same move that Jason Leffler made yesterday. And he got held back what? 5 laps? I think the only reason Junior did not get held back or did not receive a penalty is because he is this Sports favorite driver. Maybe NASCAR officials thought there was gonna be a riot at the track if they discipline him? Or is it because he is the nice guy of NASCAR and they see Leffler as a bad boy of NASCAR?
Well I am not sure what to make of this...but from what I read in several online communities so far I am not the only one.

But I am still gonna be a Junior fan...I will be over it next week!

My thoughts for the 2009 season

here are my thought so far in bullet points:
  • I wish everyone would leave Joey Logano alone. He is gonna be just fine!
  • Gonna be sad not to see Kyle Petty drive but love him on TNT and SPEED
  • Glad Jeremy Mayfield made the Daytona 500, raw deals the past years
  • Think Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman are gonna do well
  • I think fans are starting to love, okay like, Kyle Busch
  • Glad Paul Menard switched teams, he already does better
  • Hate to see Clint out of the Jack Daniels car, think that sucks big time
  • Am still confused by some numbers and teams
  • Think we should not underestimate Scott Speed
  • Think Mark Martin really could be a Champion this year
  • Think it is time Junior makes some waves

Tony Stewart & Ryan Newman on QVC

Todays "For Race Fans Only" show on QVC is at the new Stewart-Haas Racing shop.
It is funny to watch. Ryan Newman hardly says a word.

The new shop looks great, especially the company logo.
And the cars are pretty cool as well.

so he won

So I am sorry but I have gotten a little bored with the last 3-4 races.
I think we all knew that Jimmy Johnson was gonna win.

I was a little sad to watch Raceday for the last time and the last pre-race ceremonies but I had to admit it this year I have gotten a little bored with watching racing every weekend. It's been a little dull for the last month or so.

So now I am looking forward to an exciting season of 2009.

Kyle Busch made me cry

So Kyle Busch which I used to not like made me cry.
I was so moved when he made a $ 100.000 donation to Sam Ard in his victory Speech in Texas last weekend. I used to think he was just a punk but he had been growing on me and other fans as it seems. I don't recall anybody booing him this last win.

So now I think that Kyle is pretty awesome. Maybe he just had to grow on all of us.
Or maybe he just grew up and grew accustomed to fame in NASCAR.
Or maybe he is just humbled by seeing and knowing the other side of fame. You can fall fast and you can also end up poor with nothing.

Whatever made Kyle more likable. KEEP IT UP Kyle!
I am a fan now.

Here is a link to a nice article about the Kyle donation on NASCAR.com
Made me cry again.

Lewis Hamilton is the 2008 Formula 1 champ

Congrats to Lewis Hamilton. He is the youngest F1 champ in history. He is 23 years old. He is also the first black driver to win a championship in F1.

This makes me especially happy because he has been treated very unfairly in this sport this year.

He soooo deserves this.

GO LEWIS!!!

It was an absolutely awesome race and the decision came down to the last seconds.
Can't wait till 2009.

check it out.....would love to know what Junior's thoughts are on this.
unfortunately i was on vacation and missed that race and everything about it.
this is toooo funny!

SCOTT SPEED to Sprint Cup in 2009

AJ Allmendinger out and Scott Speed in for 2009.
I was kinda afraid that would happen.
I am a big Scott Speed fan (I was a F-1 girl first) but I cannot help but be sad for AJ. He is a great guy and great racer. Wish someone would hire him and give him a good chance for next year. Maybe Kyle Petty should retire and put him in his car.
Lets face it Kyle always runs at the end of the pack and AJ has been doing so well.
Good Luck to AJ. hope he gets a ride soon.

poor Kyle Busch

Man I am not a big Kyle Busch fab. Although he has been kinda growing on me.
But how heartbreaking is it that you won everything on the planet or so it seems all year long and then the 2 first races in the chase everything falls apart and brakes.
After one race i thought it was bad luck but now after two it's like a conspiracy for him to loose everything. This is crazy. I know there is nobody out there sabotaging Kyle Busch but man if I would not know any better i would think there is.

This is crazy and I cannot help but feel bad for him...hang in there Kyle.

NASCAR takes backseat to college football

Here we go again, didn't we have these issues last year?
The race is supposed to be on ESPN 2 but college football is not done yet.
I personally do not care. I hate football.
So it says on the bottom to go to ESPN Classic. Heck I have no idea where ESPN classic is on my cable since they moved it. So I had to go on the internet and find out. This is sooo ridiculous.

And did they rename the Speedway in Calafornia? I am confused.
Also what is up with the announcer? He could not remember the name of the series that
that guy stars in?

Jeeez....too many issues when they are racing in California.
Or so it seems to me.

Well now that i vented I am gonna go enjoy my race, hopefully.

Congrats to Joey Logano

well it was the worst kept secret and everyone knew that he was gonna take over
the number 20 car but I still think it is exciting news.
I am excited for him and I think he is gonna do just fine.
Although he is very young still. He has his head on straight and he is gonna
handle it all calmly as he has done so far.
Can't wait to get my fan gear.

Racing things I wonder about

So I think it has been a weird few weeks.
Many things are changing and not all of them I like.
Here are some questions I have and things i wonder about.

Why has nobody snatched up Dario Franchitti for 2009?
Why does Clint have to leave his Jack Daniels car?
Why can't Scott Riggs get a ride?

hmmm, guess this can kinda be a heartbreaking sport, and it is not
always about talent it is a lot of times also about who you know and who wants to sponsor you.

Very tuff and strange at times.

Also have Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch just been horribly arrogant lately or is it just me?

This was a huge crash. Glad to see Bobby Labonte is okay because he hit hard. And Sam Hornish Jr's hit was one of the craziest crashes I have ever seen.
Hopefully everyone is well including all the photographers that were standing right there.
